Privacy notice

Last updated 22 October 2026

Worklanded passes customer enquiries to local firms that do the work. This notice explains what information we hold about the firms we work with, the people whose enquiries we pass on, and visitors to this website, and what we do with it.

Who we are

Worklanded is run by Ellul Solutions Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17364530, registered office 14 Warfield Crescent, Waterlooville, England, PO7 7JP. Ellul Solutions Ltd is the controller of the information described here. For anything about your information, email joe@ellul.solutions.

If you run a firm

What we hold: your business name, address and postcode, website, the email addresses and phone numbers your business publishes, the trades and services you offer, the area you cover, and any licence or register entry that applies to your trade. If you sign in, we also hold the email address you sign in with, your account and its balance, the enquiries you were offered and opened, and your payments. We keep the emails we send you and your replies, notes of any calls, and when you tell us you are too busy for new work.

Where it comes from: your business's own website, public registers (for example a regulator's list of licensed firms), and what you tell us when you sign up, reply or call.

Why we use it: to offer you enquiries in your trade and area, to run your account if you have one, and to take payment. We rely on our legitimate interest in offering businesses work in their trade, and on our contract with you once you have an account. We keep accounting records because the law requires it.

Emails from us: links in our emails carry a code that tells us which email a click came from, so we know what is useful to firms. If you reply that you do not want to hear from us, we stop for good and keep your email address and your business's own web domain on a do-not-contact list so it stays that way. You can also email joe@ellul.solutions at any time.

If you sent an enquiry

What we hold: what you told us in your enquiry: your name, how to contact you, your postcode or area, the work you need and when. It reaches us from the website you used. Those websites are run by Ellul Solutions Ltd or by companies under the same ownership, and their form told you that your enquiry would be passed on.

Who we pass it to: firms that do the work you asked about in your area, so they can contact you about it. A firm may see what the job is before it takes your enquiry; your contact details go to the firms that take it. Firms pay us to take an enquiry, and that is how Worklanded earns its money.

Why: because you asked for your enquiry to be passed to firms when you sent it. If you no longer want it passed on, email joe@ellul.solutions and we will stop.

If you visit this website

We set these cookies:

  • a sign-in cookie, only if you sign in, so you stay signed in;
  • est_ob_…, when you open an enquiry from a link we sent you, so the same browser can open it again;
  • wl_src, only when you arrive from a link in one of our emails, so the pages you read next are recorded against that email; it lasts 30 days;
  • wl_cur, only if you choose a currency, so prices stay in it; it lasts a year.

We use no advertising cookies. The sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check you are a person, and this site loads its font from Google Fonts, so Google sees your browser's address when a page loads.

Who else handles it

These companies hold or process information for us, under contract and only to provide their service:

  • Cloudflare: hosting, the database and sending email;
  • Mailgun: sending email;
  • Stripe: taking payments (we never see or store your card number);
  • Google: signing in with a Google account, and the website's font;
  • Telegram: the messaging service our own alerts arrive on, which can include a firm's reply to us.

We also share information where the law requires it, and with our professional advisers.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of these providers hold information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law provides, such as the UK-US Data Bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

  • A firm's details: while the firm can be offered enquiries. When you ask us to delete them we do, keeping only your email address and domain on the do-not-contact list.
  • Enquiries: while the firms and the customer may need them to follow up, and while a refund or a dispute about them could arise. We delete one when you ask, unless we need it for a dispute or the law requires us to keep it.
  • Payment and accounting records: six years, as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, or to move it to someone else. You can object to how we use it, and you can always stop us contacting you. Email joe@ellul.solutions and we will answer within a month. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
